A WhatsApp agent for driving schools: prices, sign-ups and lessons

Students and parents message you about prices, packages, lesson times and exam dates while you're in the car with someone else. They won't install another app, but they already write to you on WhatsApp. Here an agent answers there from your own price list, takes registrations with the documents they need, books lessons once you approve, and tells a student where their application stands, from the records you keep.

The workflow

When a student messages your school on WhatsApp, the agent answers from your own price list, collects the registration documents and offers lesson times — and once you approve, the registration workflow starts with every document and the lesson goes into your calendar.

  1. Trigger

    When someone messages you

A student or a parent writes to your school's WhatsApp number.

  2. Agent

    Conversation

The agent answers about prices and packages from your instructions, a skill or a price table, and gathers what a registration needs.

  3. Then

    Secure upload link

The ID is never asked for in the chat: the student gets a private upload page, and the registration waits until everything is in.

  4. Approval

    Approvals

Registrations and lesson bookings wait for your Approve — on WhatsApp, in the app, by email or on Slack.

  5. Then

    Connector

The lesson is written into Google Calendar through its Connector, or into your school's system through a Custom MCP server.

What can the agent answer?

The questions that eat your evenings. Prices and packages come from your own price list — in the agent's instructions, a skill, or a table you keep current — so it quotes what you charge, not a guess.

Where an application stands, and when the exam is, come from a students table you keep. The agent finds the student's row by the number WhatsApp delivered, never by anything typed in the chat, so a student only ever gets their own. The answer is only as current as that table.

How do registrations work?

As a document request. The agent gathers the details your registration needs, and anything you mark Sensitive — the ID, for instance — goes through a Secure upload link, a private page, instead of the chat. It reads each file as it arrives and asks again for a blurry photo or a missing side. The registration starts only when everything is in and you've approved it.

How are lessons booked?

Through your calendar. With the Google Calendar Connector, or your school's own system through a Custom MCP server if it has an API, the agent finds a lesson time that fits and offers it. Booking, moving and cancelling each wait for your Approve, so you stay the one who decides who drives when.

What do you need to set it up?

Your school's WhatsApp Business number, connected in Settings → Channels; we set it up with you on the onboarding call. Your price list and a calendar the agent can reach. For status answers, a students table you keep in Files; we connect it to the agent with you on the same call. Approval requests reach you on WhatsApp once your own number is under Owner numbers.

You can start small. On a number that also runs in the WhatsApp Business app, Who the bot answers can leave the students you already know to you, with everyone except these numbers, while the bot takes the new enquiries.

What won't it do?

It doesn't connect to the exam office or to any driving school software out of the box, and it doesn't know an exam date unless it's in your table. It won't register a student or book a lesson without your OK. It doesn't understand voice notes, and it doesn't hand a chat to you by itself.

What does it cost to run?

neonloops bills for the time your work is actually working: the minutes the agent spends on a reply or reading a document. The hours a student takes to answer, and a booking waiting for your tap, cost nothing. A workspace adds a card and is priced per billable minute from the start, against a ceiling you set yourself; there's no trial. Meta bills its own fees for templates and some replies to your school's own WhatsApp Business account — never through neonloops.
